The National Urban League remains committed and proactive in its efforts to remove barriers negatively impacting communities across our country. They are dedicated to addressing issues involving criminal and social justice reform, police accountability, and ensuring key civic engagement for all citizens, such as voting rights and census participation. 

I listened to Talking with Strangers last year (narrated by Malcolm Gladwell). It takes a deep dive into how our perception of others is often very wrong and how our interactions with strangers can go so horribly wrong, often as a result of our own experiences. I strongly believe education, training, self-reflection, awareness, and staying curious, which can go a long way to healing –and it starts at home.
